STAINS ON DELICATE FABRICS

These little yellow stains were driving me mad.  The dry cleaners would not clean the skirt and because is silk and hand painted I was too scared to use my usual way to remove stains

So I remember, my mum sometimes leaves clothes in a bowl in the sun in order to remove stains. So a bit apprehensive I decided to give it a go.

Could not wear the skirt like this, so why not try and let  Mother Nature do Her work.

Not only had the yellow stains  to remove,  also found a grease stain

So let's see 

In a bowl,  poured tepid water and some woolite

Very gently rub the stain - silk is a very delicate fabric

Made sure all the skirt was immersed in water and left it in the sun

 Remembering to check very often to see if the skirt was still immersed and in the sun

After a couple of hours the stain was faded and could not find the grease stain

Rinsed with cold water and Comfort

Do not wring just squeeze the water off

Gave a good shake

Hanged in a clothesline and let it the wind do his job

Whatever you do do not let dry completely in the sun 

Now a have my skirt back and learned a new way to remove stains
