HOW TO CLEAN A DIRTY OVEN TRAY
This is the time of the year when we tend to be very short of time around the house because there are one million of things that need to be done.
I do not know in your households but in mine, the oven seems to be working 24/7.
Oven trays are very time-consuming to clean and if left for too long they will take twice the time to clean.
I find this way saves a lot of time without much effort and I can do 2 jobs at the same time.
What is needed
Gloves
Vinegar
Good washing up liquid
Metal scorer
Dishwasher tablets (any good quality ones are ok)
Kitchen brush
Cooker
1 - Put your tray on top of the cooker with the burners on (just the ones at the far end).
2 - Pour a bit of vinegar and washing -up-liquid as you can see it starts to boil (because the tray is already hot) it will be easy to scrape.
3 - Pour a bit of boiling water and let boil in low heat.
4 - After it starts boiling add one dishwasher tablet ( any good dishwasher tablet will do) and let it boil very, very gently.
In the meantime start cleaning the kitchen like:
- Empty or fill up the dishwasher
- Empty the rubbish
- Sorting out the fridge
- Swiping the floors
Iām sure there are plenty of jobs to do in the kitchen even Baking a cake
5 - Once in a while pass by the tray and give a bit of a brush, check the water level, ( if needed add more boiling water) and carry on cleaning the kitchen.
As you can see some grease is coming to the top.
As I check the tray again I can notice the grease stain is nearly gone
6 - Remove the tray from the cooker PLEASE DO USE OVEN GLOVES the tray is very, very hot. As I removed the tray from the stove, I notice that the burners were dirty so using the hot detergent in the tray I put them to soak and carry on doing other things
7 - As the liquid started to be a bit cooler I scrub the burners.
8 - Give the tray also one last good scrub and rinsed everything very well
REMEMBER to wash and scrub the back of the tray
