CARING FOR ANTIQUE CRYSTAL GLASSES

I love to have dinner party's and use my crystal glasses, but they are so old I would not dare to wash them in the washing machine, they have to be hand wash one by one and with a lot of care.

WHAT TO HAVE ON HAND

- White vinegar

- Fairy liquid

- Soft scorer

- Plenty of clean cotton  tea towels - the best one are     lint free

Into a jar, I pour 1 coffee cup of white vinegar and a dessert spoon of fairy liquid. Give a good shake and is ready to use.

STEPS TO WASH CRYSTAL GLASSES

STEP 1 -  Holding the bowl of the glass, with a soft side of the scorer, wash the rim, removing lip-stick or grease from the lips - avoid twisting the stem of the glass.

STEP 2 - Wash inside the glass first, hold the glass bowl - that way the glass does not have soap on the outside and you run less the change for the glass to slip out of your hands.

Then the outside  - look for fingerprints in the stem and bowl.

NOTE: Avoid while cleaning putting to much pressure on the rim, they are so delicate a bit to much pressure and they will break.
