HOW TO PREVENT FABRIC BELTS FRAYING IN THE WASHING MACHINE

Bathrobes belts, suffer a fair bit of biting and misuse. From constantly giving very tight knots to washing them very often. So everything we can do in order to make them last a bit longer is a good thing.

This green one has not been well looked after over the years, as been going into the washing machine and tumble dryer too often. ( this happened before my time in the house)

On the other hand, this gray one has been well looked after. So what did I do in order to prevent it? Might you ask?

STEP 1 - Roll the belt up and put the belt inside a little wash bag ( just big enough to fit 1 belt and put only 1 belt in each bag )

STEP 2 - Wash at 40. DO not overload the washing machine and DO not spin over 800.

STEP 3 - Once the cycle is finished, remove them from the washing machine and also remove them from the washing bags and put them in the tumble dryer for 5 minutes, on the lowest setting you have

STEP 4 - Remove from tumble dryer give a good shake and air dry it.

Believe it or not, the gray one is over 9 years old. This photo was taken in 2017 but only now I have found this post in one of my folders ready to post.

The green one went 2 years ago into my rag bag and waits to be used for something else (you should know me by now, everything will have a second life. His time will come also)😉
