KEEP THE SHOWER DRAIN CLEAN AND WITHOUT BAD SMELLS

This is a reminder - including me - once a month, let's say the first weekend of every month, this is a must thing WE HAVE to do to: CLEan the shower drain.

we use Our shower every day and we wipe it clean every time we use it but sometimes we tend to ignore what we can not see.

  • MATERIAL THAT A NEED White vinegar White vinegar in a spray bottle Lots of toilet paper

STEP 1 - Remove the metal plug from the shower drain. Get a piece of toilet paper and remove all the hairs out. Give a good spray with white vinegar and let it soak

STEP 2 - Inside the drain, some showers have a little bowl, remove it and pour a bit of white vinegar inside the bowl and inside the drain. Using a white vinegar spry give a good spray to the drain and outside the bowl (not only it will remove the limescale it will eliminate bad smells) and let it soak for a while

NOTE - While I leave the things soaking I use the time to clean the bathroom. No point wasting time.

After I finish cleaning the bathroom is time to go back to the shower drain and start cleaning.

STEP 3 - With a help of toilet paper I removed the hairs, all the black dirt and mold (not a good idea to let them go down the drain). With an old toothbrush, ( I save old toothbrushes for little jobs around the house) I give a good scrub to the groves on the drain, bowl and the metal plug. After everything has been scrubbed and all the dirt has been loosened, I turn the showerhead on full blast and rinse everything.

Replace all the bits into place and we are done. Not a nice job but someone has to do it.

A nice and clean drain, WELL for a couple of weeks, let’s hope.

Note - the black line in the metal plug is the reflection of the shower, it is not dirt.
