HOW TO UNCLOG/REMOVE HAIRS FROM THE PLUGHOLE OF A BATHTUB IN ORDER TO KEEP THE WATER FLOWING EASILY

It is a job that is not pleasant to do but it needs to be done in order to avoid blocked or smelly drains.

If it is done regularly it is not so bad, but if neglected can be very messy and smelly job.

The best way to avoid the problem it is to clean it after each bath/shower.

Just get a  piece of paper and remove any hairs left in the plughole.

 

If by any reason the plughole collected a bit too much hair and it is impossible to remove it with a piece of paper, have a go at this way, is quick efficient and not very messy.   

WHAT IS NEEDED                                                                                      

 - A long cable tie                                                                                     

 - A very old scissors - the last thing needed is to damage a new scissors.

STEP 1 -  Carefully make few cuts all the way down off the cable tie - on both sides - try to cut at an angle, like shown in the pictures below.

 

STEP 2 -  Put the cable tie through the plugholes and go as further down the drain as it is possible - go a couple of times up and down.

STEP 3  - As the hair is brung up, have a piece of paper handy to collect them.
