HOW TO REMOVE STICKY LABEL GLUE RESIDUE FROM A GLASS JAR

I have this beautiful jam jar that I wanted to keep but after removing the label in the normal way, ( soaking it in hot water for a while) it left behind a kind of stickiness that would not come off, even with alcohol.

I did some research and also asked around to see if any of my friends had any idea how to remove it.

A Friend of mine said that she tried the method below and she said it worked quite well. So I decided to have a go also.

The only thing need was peanut butter and water.

STEP 1 - Spread a small amount of peanut butter, into the glue residue and let it soak until is nearly dry

STEP 2 - To the sticky part of the jar I gave a scrub with my fingernails and also rubbed up and down with my fingers until I felt I a smooth surface

STEP 3 - Rinse it with plenty hot water and …… I was amazed…. it really works .
